The brief was to extend and transform this traditional and modest home to incorporate bright and open spaces for modern living whilst retaining some aspects of the original character and layout.

To maintain a traditional feel as you enter the house, the original layout of the entrance lobby with reception rooms either side is retained and the original parquet flooring will be fully restored. A new ground floor extension, covered with a green roof and large glazed rooflights provides a large and spacious kitchen, dining and sitting area. Large, modern, slim framed triple track sliding doors allow light to flood into the space and when fully open crates a seamless space between living space and garden.

A two storey extension is proposed to the side which transforms a modest bedroom into a grand master bedroom with a large walk-in wardrobe and dressing area and spacious en-suite.
